The gentle guardians of the desert
The arid, hostile environment like a desert is home to wild animals, like the Alpine ibex, a species of wild goat with long horns and abilities to make gravity-defying jumps on the cliff; the camel with one or two humps, which store fat; the mouflon, a wild and belligerent sheep, native to the Caspian region, and the Mongolian wild horse, the world’s last remaining wild horse. The Mongolian wild horse, also known as the Przewalski's horse, used to be found in the rolling prairie or semi-desert area, but it can no longer survive in the wild. Designated as endangered species, the horse is been protected.
